ZEMBO, Charles P. "Chuck", age 87, of Grand Blanc, formerly of Flushing, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, April 3, 2007. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12PM Friday, April 6, 2007 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Michael Weston officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday 10AM-2PM and 4-8PM and on Friday 11AM until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Genesys Hospice Care Center or Genesee County Humane Society. Chuck was born February 1, 1920 in Gallutzin, Pennsylvania the son of John and Mary (Olenik) Zembo. He married Thelma R. Gay in Flint on June 21, 1941. Chuck was employed for 35 years by Sorenson and Gross as a brick and stone mason, until his retirement in 1982. He was especially noted for ornamental masonry.  Chuck was a charter member and Elder at Flushing Presbyterian Church, a charter member at Flushing Valley Country Club and a member of the W.F.L.A. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII for 42 months, of which 33 months were spent overseas.  He was a devoted husband, loving father, and a good friend to many people. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Thelma; 2 sons, Doug  and wife Linda of Clio, Jim and wife Chris of Grand Blanc; 2 grandsons, Derek and Cody; 1 great-grandson, Hunter; 2 brother-in-laws, Vince Obloj, Howard L. Gay; sister-in-law, Betty Dresden; extended family, Debbie Zembo. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Fran; 2 sisters, Margaret and Dorothy; sister-in-law, Zella Gay.
