Charles W. WARD

WARD, Charles W. - Age 82, of National City formerly of Flint, died Monday, May 4, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc Township. Burial immediately following at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris, where veteran honors will be rendered under the auspices of V.F.W. Chevrolet Post #3087 Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and Thursday from 11:00 AM until time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society. Mr. Ward was born April 4, 1927 in Flint, the son of Lynn and Elsie Ward. He married Juanita Albert February 2, 1945 in Flint and she preceded him in death April 27, 1987. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from Sears after 40 plus years of service. He loved riding motorcycles, sailing, reading, watching old movies and jazz music. Surviving are: 3 children, Becky and husband David Guelette of Millington, Peggy Engel of Flint and Charles Ward of Flint; 4 grandchildren, Chris Guelette of Flint, Eric and wife Stephanie Guelette of Big Rapids, Aaron Engel of Flint and Monty and wife Kelly of Ohio; 3 great grandchildren.
