SUCHANEK, Charles Stephen- Age 86, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, July 21, 2008 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1:30 PM Thursday, July 24, 2008 at St. Mary Queen Of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek. Fr. Steven Mattson celebrant. Burial immediately following at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek from 6-9 PM Tuesday, 1-4 and 6-9 PM Wednesday and at the church from 1 pm until time of mass on Thursday. A vigil/rosary service will be held 7 PM Tuesday. Those desiring may make contributions to American Cancer Society. Charles was born November 11, 1921 in Deweyville, TX, the son of Frank and Leopolda (Kolder) Suchanek. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He married Georgine Storey November 9, 1946 in Flint and she preceded him in death February 11, 1989. Charles had resided in Swartz Creek for the past 30 years coming from Flint. He retired in 1980 from Buick after 38 years of service. He was a life member of the Western Fraternal Bohemian Association and was a member of U.A.W. Local 599. He is survived by 5 children, Craig and wife Barbara of Flushing, Jeanne and husband Bruce Montory of Durand, Lynne and husband Tom Erickson of Davison, Gail and husband Dan Krug of Grand Haven, Bill and wife Gwen of Brighton; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; 6 sisters, Stephanie Barta of Flint Twp., Annie and husband Robert Hall of Ann Arbor, Margaret and husband Frank Nemecek of Swartz Creek, Pauline and husband Dr. Robert Webber of Flushing, Joanne and husband Michael McCloskey of Owosso, Adeline and husband Ed Ryznar of Belleville; 4 sisters-in-law, Leta Phillips of Flushing, Wilma and husband Ortal Lindsley of Flushing, Toni Storey of Flushing, Doris Storey of Flint; Several nieces and nephews.
