August 15, 1933 — June 7, 2011

STONE, Charles Edward, age 77, of Linden, taken to be with the Lord at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at University Hospitals, Ann Arbor. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 6273 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Pastors Chris Yager, Aaron Whitman, Glen Gardner and Steve Gibson will officiate. The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. Saturday until time of service at the church. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be Friday 1:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Donations may be made to the family in memory of Charles. Charles was born August 15, 1933 in Reading, MI the son of the late Wilmer E. and Helen (Tearney) Stone. He married Patsy Struble in Ypsilanti on August 30, 1952. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a sergeant during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955 and was a member of Fenton V.F.W Curtis-Wolverton Post #3243. He retired from Ovidon Industries after 16 years of employment. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and also enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. His greatest love was his wife Patsy and he enjoyed working in the Lord's house. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Pat of Linden; daughter, DeLynn (Walt) DeMell of Fenton; son, Gregory (Delores) Stone of Owosso; grandchildren, Cathy (John) Wright of Owosso, Jennifer (Troy) Ellis of NC, Thomas (Kelli) Huff, James (Stacie) Huff, Robert (Ashley) Stone, Crystal (Kevin) Marlow all of Owosso; great-grandchildren Fallon Ellis, Domanick Huff, Katelyn Huff, Haleigh Marlow; brother, Robert (Carley) Stone of AZ; sister, Carol (Gino) Gabriele of Brighton; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Stone. He will be sadly missed. Online condolences may be posted on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
