SOLOMON, Charles Anthony - age 71, of Gaines, died Sunday, October 29, 2017. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, November 3, 2017 at Our Lady of Lebanon Marionite Catholic Church, 4413 Calkins Rd., Flint with Fr. Pierre Bassil celebrant. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where an incense service will be held at 7 PM. Visitation will also be held 10 AM - 11 AM Friday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family. Charles was born April 11, 1946 in Flint, the son of Samuel and Mary Ann (Abraham) Solomon. He married Karen Kay Mason on September 17, 1966 and she preceded him in death on December 6, 2000. Charles was a Journeyman Pressman and retired from the Flint Journal. Surviving are: four children, Mark (Tonya) Solomon, Mary Kay (James) Mortiere, John (Victoria) Solomon, and Jeanene Solomon (James Elder); three grandchildren, Chevelle, Shelby and Ashley; great-granddaughter, Elise; brother, Samuel Solomon; sister, Diane (Aziz) Massad; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Karen; and brother, John.
