Charles "Bob" SHAW, Sr.

SHAW Sr., Charles Robert, "Bob", age 78, of Grand Blanc, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012 at home. Services will be 5:30pm Friday, July 6, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. Pastor Bruce Garner officiating. The family will receive friends 4pm Friday until time of service. Memorial donations may be made to Genesys Hospice. Bob was born October 5, 1933 in Flint, MI son of the late Wallace and Leila Marion (Bacon) Shaw. He married Sarah Ann Williams in Texas on December 24, 1955. Bob was a veteran of the Korean War, he was employed by General Motors as a Skilled Trades Machine Repairman. An active member of UAW local 659, Bob served as Joint Counsel Delegate, Alternate Committeeman, Committeeman, Shop Committee and as Shop Committee Chairman, until his retirement in 1984. Bob was an outdoorsman, he rode dirtbikes and snowmobiles in northern Michigan, became an avid golfer after retirement. Surviving are his loving wife of 56 years, Sarah; 3 children, Susan Cross (Dennis) of Grand Blanc, Charles Robert Shaw Jr. (Kim) of Swartz Creek, Michael Shaw (Evelyn) of Grand Blanc; 7 grandchildren, Joshua Cross, Samantha Cross, Sarah Parker, Ashlee Brust, Robyn Brooks, Matthew Harper, Jacob Shaw; 8 great-grandchildren, Aiden, Sophia, James, Blake, Logan, Evan, Kyliegh, Michael; sister, Joyce Southwell and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Shaw, Richard Shaw and sister, Rose Harris. The family extends thanks to the nurses and staff of Genesys Hospice Homecare for their loving support; and to Dr. Nathan Landesman for his dedication and constant availability to his patients.
