Charles "Chuck" E. Rickman Sr. age 72, of Bancroft, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024. Visitation will take place at 10am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11am on Friday, January 10, 2025. Chuck will be laid to rest at Bendle Cemetery in Clayton Township. Chuck was born on November 27, 1952, in Ronceverte, West Virginia to the late Maury E. (Margaret) Rickman. He graduated from Swartz Creek High School, class of 1970. Chuck furthered his education at both Mott Community College and Baker College. His first business he started was Rickman’s Collision in Swartz Creek. From there he started C&D Enterprises providing Bus repair services across the country. Chuck retired from CIE Newcor as a Purchasing Manager.
Chuck was a Michigander through and through, he loved all things that had to do with the great outdoors. Chuck was a decorated huntsmen, hounds' man and fisherman. His hunting and fishing had acquired many stories and friends along the way. Chuck loved his country music, he was quite the artist himself as he had written and composed songs that had made it to the radio. Chuck spent a great deal of time with his sons; he was always able to recruit them on his projects. One project in particular was the making of his famous maple syrup. From placing the taps in the trees to boiling the sap, he made it a “family production”.
He is survived by his four sons, Rusty Rickman, Gene Rickman, Dallas Rickman, Tristan Rickman; sister, Judy Orr and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Tina who passed in 2020; son Chuckie, and brother Mike.
