Charles lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for several years to be near his dear friends Alan and Joan Chandler and their children Cherylynn and Jeff who knew him as Uncle. Eventually, he made his way back to Michigan and met his beloved wife Ginger (Felch) in 1978 at Baker Community College. They married in November and Charles was instantly blessed with two children, Cindi and Ranald Luke. In September, 1979, Charles and Ginger welcomed a second daughter, Sarah and moved to Linden in 1980.
Charles was a carpenter by trade and owned his own business for many years, serving the community with quality and affordability. He was also a talented woodworker and he and Ginger blessed many people with their custom furniture and decor. He was also a brilliant singer and musician who could listen to any song and play it back flawlessly. Charles and Ginger worked for H&R Block for many years together and retired in 2019 and enjoyed their golden years on Fife Lake. Charles is remembered for his kindness and the love and compassion he showed to everyone he met.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Arlene, his sister Jennie May, his in-laws Bryce and Marjory Felch, and his brother-in-law Harold (Bill) Fromholz.
