Charles Nottingham

NOTTINGHAM, Charles Velorus - Age 80, of Flint, died on March 25, 2015. Funeral services will be 3 PM Monday, March 30 at More Life Tabernacle, 6430 W. Lennon Road, Swartz Creek. Bishop Jerry Stoner officiating. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date privately. Visitation will be held 11 AM - 1 PM and 3-8:30 PM Sunday, March 29 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek; and 1-3 PM Monday at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to More Life Tabernacle Church Building Fund. Charles was born on May 23, 1934 in Flint, the son of Velorus and Marie Maize (Richardson) Nottingham. He was a graduate of Flint Northern High School class of 1953. Charles served in the US Army from January 1957 to December 1958 stationed in Germany. He married Martha Smith in Flint on March 8, 1967. He retired from General Motors Metal Fab with 30 years of service. Charles was a member of More Life Tabernacle and enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Martha; children, Kenneth (Celina) of Clio, David (Sonya) of Clio, Vickie (Fred) Marsh of Toledo, OH; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; cousin, Terry "Gus" (Carol) Dopplar.
