MEEK, Charles Walter  Age 63, of Swartz Creek, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. A celebration of his life will be held 1 PM Friday, October 28, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Pastor Mark Lasley will officiate. Burial will follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-9 PM Thursday and 11 AM until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the family. Charles was born June 28, 1942 in Flint, the son of Dwight and Florence (Edwards) Meek. He was married to Sandra Cox on September 3, 1963 in Mt. Morris. Mr. Meek was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, serving in Vietnam. He served for 20 years, retiring in 1980. Following his time with the USMC, he returned to the Flint area and worked for Securitas Company for 21 years. Charles was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and camping, but especially spending time with his family. Surviving are: wife, Sandra; son, Charles Meek Jr. and wife Shelly of Linden; daughter, Tina Fugate and husband James of Rossford, OH; former son-in-law, David White of Rossford, OH; grandchildren, Jacob, Cayla, Andrea, Carlee and Colton; sister, Bonnie Vollmar and husband Larry of Flint; several nieces and nephews and many friends; special friends, John White and Pastor Mark Lasley. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Russell Trelor and Billy Meek; sister, Donna Hudson.
