Charles Ray LEACHMAN

June 1, 1934 — December 19, 2011

Leachman, Charles Ray "Charlie" Jr. , age, 77 of Fenton, died Monday December 19, 2011 at his residence. Services will be held 11:00am Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Visitation will be held 3:00-8:00pm Wednesday and 9:00am Thursday until time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Genesys Hospice. Mr. Leachman was born June 1, 1934 in Holland Michigan, the son of the late Charles R. Sr. and Pearl J. (Durance) Leachman. He married Barbara Jean McLellan in Detroit on April 4, 1959. Charlie enjoyed golfing, Boating and loved life. He was one of the original founding members of the annual 6 Pak Golf Open. Charlie served in the Air Force and was a member of the Fenton American Legion, Fenton Moose and Fenton Eagles. Mr. Leachman retired from the G.M. Chevy V-8 plant with 30 years of service. Surviving are his wife Barbara of Fenton; Children, Lori Childs of Fenton, Cheryl Kinal of Waterford and Charles "Chas" Leachman of Fenton; grandchildren, Scott Childs, Roman and Sonia Kinal and Lainey Williams; 3 sisters, Mary Lou Rosen of Livonia, Marjorie (Richard) Jones-Brawley of Livonia and Pamela (Jamshed) Bhathena of West Bloomfield; special friend Steve Vaneffen and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to extend a heart felt thank-you to Dr. Pienta and staff at the U of M Cancer Center and also to the staff at Genesys Hospice.
