Charles Alfred Koss

KOSS, Charles Alfred  Age 81, of Linden, died Monday, May 10, 2004 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, May 14, 2004 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 118 E. Lord St., Gaines, Fr. Robert McKeon celebrant. Interment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Wednesday, 1-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. A Scripture Service will be held 7 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Mr. Koss was born April 10, 1923 in Detroit the son of Charles F. and Edna (Klann) Koss. He had resided in Linden since 1972 coming from Southfield. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WWII. He married Shirley Jane ONeil on October 18, 1951 in Gaines. Mr. Koss retired from the Southfield Fire Department. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Linden Kiwanis Club and Motor City Striders. Surviving are: wife Shirley Jane; 5 children, Ann Marie and husband Rick Moore of Commerce Township, Lynn and husband Rich Winiarski of Vernon, Kelly and husband Chris OConnell of Fenton, Charles Koss of Linden, Eric and wife Kristine Koss of Douglas, Wyoming; 10 grandchildren; sister Elaine Sidley.
