Charles Bernard Kelly - Age 98, of Flushing, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in his honor at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 3, 2025, at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, located at 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Following the Mass, he will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Visitation for family and friends will take place from 4-8 PM on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM. Visitation will also be held from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM Monday at the church. Charles was born on October 5, 1926, in Chicago, IL, to Edward B. and Margaret (Pfister) Kelly. He married the love of his life, Shirley L. Kowsky, on June 24, 1950, in Chicago. Charles honorably served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a dedicated professional and a self-employed accountant working 75+ years. He was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus - Swartz Creek Council #6694, as well as the Royal Quarter Club. Charles is survived by his seven children: Thomas A. Kelly (Susan Codere); Maureen M. Lindholm (Wayne); Charles P. Kelly (Brenda); Colleen K. Degenhardt (Ted); Noreen K. Welsby (Allen); Kathleen K. Toal; Eileen L. Kelly and James Hebler (aka. adoptive son). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, along with a brother-in-law, Carl A. Kowsky of London, England. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Margaret Kelly; his wife, Shirley; and his brother, Edward J. Kelly. Tributes may be shared online at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
