HYRMAN, Charles J., "Charley" Age 87, of Swartz Creek, also known to many as the " M&M Man" went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12PM Saturday April 4, 2009 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek. Fr. Steven Mattson celebrant. The family will receive friends 11AM Saturday until time of Mass at church. Interment will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens, Flint. Visitation will be 6-8PM Thursday and 1-5 & 6-8PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Mary Queen of Angels Church, for installation of an elevator. Charley was born May 15, 1921 in Lennon the son of the late Josef and Innocentia (Vaclavik) Hyrman. He married Rose Mary Rosipko in Swartz Creek on June 27, 1942 and she preceded him in death on December 3, 2001. Charles was employed by General Motors in the building repair department until his retirement in 1985. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving with pride during WWII under General Patton. Charley was a former member of St. Joseph Church, East Jordan, St. Robert's, Flushing and most recently St. Mary Queen of Angels, Swartz Creek. He was also a member of VFW Post #5666 in Flushing and Knights of Columbus 7955 in Swartz Creek. Charley enjoyed traveling, collecting rocks from the 50 states he visited. He was a builder and brick mason, owned his own cement company, installed many basements in the Flint area, and built his own homes as well. Charley enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, ice skating, the Detroit Tigers, and looked forward to his daily meals at Bob Evans. He was a inventive man and built a radio at age 15 which allowed him to serve on the First Enemy Aircraft Radar, the SCR 268 in WWII; he also whittled a whistle from a piece of branch, attended college for agri-culture, and held a patent on a pocket money holder. He was the proud father if 5 boys and 5 girls, and he loved to help people, but most of all he loved his family. Surviving are his 9 children, Mary Anne Weishaar(John) of Rochester Hills; John Hyrman (Patricia) of Peru, IN, Teri Anthony (Tim) of Flint, Pat Hyrman of Swartz Creek, Mike Hyrman (Diane) of Traverse City, Rosemarie "Pinki" Ludwig (Larry) of Swartz Creek, Joe Hyrman of Shaftsburg, Cecilia Cunningham (Ron) of East Jordan, Agnes Freed(Duane) of Flint; daughter-in-law, Kris Hyrman of Burton; exchange student, Joao Jose Rodrigues of Brazil; 34 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sister, Mary Ach; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by son, Charles Hyrman Jr.; 4 brothers, infant, Josef Hyrman, Joseph Strbik, Frank and Eddie Hyrman; and 2 sisters, Josephine Hudy and Anna Cech.
