HOWARD, Charles Lowell, "Big Chas" of Frankenmuth, formerly, of Linden, passed away, July 23, 2023. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, August 20, 2023 at 13485 W. Laneden Dr. Holly MI, 48442. Cremation Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton.
Charles was born December 15, 1935 in Caseville, the son of Bert and Edith (Maynard) Howard. He married Gretchen L. Scherpring in Saginaw, September 15, 1956. He graduated from Elkton H.S in 1952. Charles was employed by GM for 33 years and a member of UAW Local #......He was a former member of Caseville United Methodist Church. Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to the horse races, and playing a variety of card games. He loved to sing and dance and whistle with the birds while sitting on his front porch. Charles walked 3-6 miles per day up until he turned 85 years old. He loved sports of all types, especially baseball. Charles was the "best dad ever"! He was a "peacemaker".
Charles is survived by his wife, Gretchen; children, Jody Craft, Joseph Howard, Kimberly (Charles Burgess) Minock-Burgess, Bethany (Dan) Shannon, and Amy (Patrick) Murley; grandchildren, Jason Howard, Jessica (Jason) Klukowski, , Felcia (Alex) Bigger, Rachel (Mike) Zack, Charles (Erin) Craft, Dave Howard, Mike Howard, Guy (Krista) Minock, Matthew Minock, Mitchell Minock, Chazidee Limame, Trevor (Savannah) Shannon, Tristan Shannon, Joshua Murley, Caleb Murley; 21 great grandchildren; sister, Janice Martinez; brother, Gary Howard; several nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by, his parents; siblings, Bob, Bertha, Jean, Dick, Clayt, Joyce, Dale, and Sherry. Online tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
