Van Horn, Charles Alvin age 93, of Fenton, died Thursday, October 12, 2006 at Crestmont Healthcare Center. Funeral Services will be held 11AM Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Â Interment in Oakwood Cemetery. Pastor Dan Wallace officiating. Visitation will be held 10AM Saturday until time of service at the funeral home. Â Contributions may be made to Fenton United Methodist Church, Family Life Center. Alvin was born December 12, 1912 in Caro, the son of Edward John and Lillian (Silvernail) VanHorn. He married Hester Kitchen in 1939 and she preceded him in death in 1983. He then married Juanita Berry in 1985. Alvin was a Minister at Free Methodist Church of Fenton, and a teacher for Fenton Schools, retiring in 1973. Surviving are his wife, Juanita; 2 daughters, Rachel Ann Brown, (Ralph) of Fenton, Ruth Elaine Ranger (John) Mattawa, Ontario; son, John Alvin Van Horn of Ludington; grandchildren, Marsha Greer (Dan), Ryan Brown, Jason and Jamie Ranger, Melody Oglethorpe (Glen), Michael, Brad and Tracey Van Horn; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Francis Van Horn of Florida; 2 sisters, Naomi Barber (Robert) of Roscommon, Geraldine Conely (Howard) of Mayville.
