HAYES, Charles Leo  age 75, of Fenton, died Saturday, January 14, 2006 at St. Mary Hospital in Saginaw. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton with Rev. Steven Schick officiating. Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held 6-9 PM Monday and 2-4 and 6-9 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Transfiguration Lutheran Church Building Fund. Mr. Hayes was born March 27, 1930 in Flint, the son of William and Vivian (Harris) Hayes. He was a graduate of Northern High School in Flint and attended the University of Michigan until he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He married Arlene Isaacson on December 3, 1955 at Our Savior Lutheran Church. After being discharged, he graduated from Tri-State Engineering School and worked as a Mechanical Engineer at GMSPO until his retirement in 1986. Mr. Hayes enjoyed traveling, golfing with his son and photography, he was rarely without his camera. He was a member of Transfiguration Lutheran Church. Surviving are: wife of 50 years, Arlene of Fenton; three children, Lori and husband, John Zengerle of Fenton, Michael Hayes and Lynn of Linden, Leann Lambert of Fenton; five grandchildren, Maryn, Sean, Chelsey, Brittney, Kyle; great-grandson, Brian; two brothers, Ben Hayes and wife, Judy, Bill Hayes and wife, Geri; two sisters, Janet and husband, Myron Shelton, Joyce and husband, Bert Hopkins; many nieces and nephews.
