HAWLEY, Â Charles W., age 76 of Grand Blanc, formerly of Burton, died at Genesys Health Park, Monday, December 17, 2007. Â He was born in Nottingham, England, son of Frederick and Ivy (Miles) Hawley. He attended school in England and later entered into the British Army and served in Malasia. He came to the United States in 1953. Mr. Hawley was a loving caregiver to his wife and devoted to his family. Â He retired from G.M. Flint Metal Fab plant in 1983 after 30 years of service. Â In younger years in England, he enjoyed cycling and boxing and in later years in this area he was an active participant in personal fitness, having had membership in the Fitness USA (formerly Universal Health Spas. Â Surviving is his wife Deloris; his son Michael Charles Hawley and wife Brigitte; two grandchildren; Aaron Michael Hawley and Jennifer Lynn Riggs and husband Quenton James Riggs. Â Also surviving are two sisters; Ivy Joan Wood and Doris Norma Warren along with several nieces and nephews. Â he was preceded in death by his parents and two brother-in-laws; Â Charles Douglas Wood and Frederick Warren. Â A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 22, 2007 in the Chapel at Abbey Park, 3221 E. Baldwin Rd., Grand Blanc. The family will receive friends at the chapel of Abbey Park from 10 A.M. to service time.
