COLE, Charles John "Charlie" - Age 71, of Fenton, died Monday, December 19, 2016. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Monday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM, where a rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM followed by a 3rd Degree Memorial Service and 4th Degree Chalice Service. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Charlie J. Cole Memorial Fund. Charlie was born February 22, 1945 in Flint, the son of Francis and Mary (Hackney) Cole. He was a graduate of St. John Vianney High School. He married Nancy Ann Lavene September 8, 1967 in Flint and she preceded him in death April 16, 2001. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where he was an annual volunteer for the Applefest. He was a member of the Fenton Knights of Columbus Council 7418 and Fenton Assembly #2031. Charlie owned and operated a barbershop in Flint for many years, then was a shoe salesman for various stores in the Flint area. Surviving are: son, Scott Cole of Fenton; brother, Joseph Cole of Flint; sister, Joanie Long of Ohio; several nieces and nephews; special friends, John, Paul, Pat, and Colleen Cavanagh.
