BURNASH, Charles Frances  age 74, of Mt. Morris, died Tuesday, November 11, 2003 at his residence. Funeral mass will be celebrated 1 PM Friday, November 14, 2003 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G3139 Hogarth Ave, Flint with Rev. Msgr. Richard Groshek celebrant. Interment will be held at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be from 12-9 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a scripture service will be held 5 PM Thursday evening. Charlie was born June 3, 1929 in Alpena, the son of Maxin, Sr. and Agnes (Murray) Burnash and resided in Flint most of his life. He married Marietta Montgomery on May 2, 1953 in Flint and she preceded him in death on May 15, 1998. Charlie was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was an Operating Engineer with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local # 324 for 21 years retiring in 1990. Surviving are: nine children, Charlotte (Jack) Moorhouse of Flint, Charlene (Pat) OBrien of Sterling, VA, Laura Wichert of Mt. Morris, Ann Burnash of Flint, David (Spring) Burnash of Flint, Rick Burnash of Flint, Max (Darla) Burnash of Burton, Rita Crites of Clio, James Burnash of Flint; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Max and Mike Burnash; four sisters, Mary Lou Krish, Shirley Stanton, Kay Timmons, Ida Forsberg; many nieces and nephews; mans best friend, Chi-Chi. Charlie was also preceded in death by: his parents; grandson, Allen Call, Jr. The family would like to extend a special thank to Charlies nephew, Dean Montgomery and wife, Wendy and Pat, Barb and the rest of the staff at Community Home Health and Hospice.
