BAKER, Charles Richard - Age 79, of Flint, went to be with his LORD on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Funeral services will be held 1PM Monday, April 27, 2015 at South Flint Tabernacle, G-3450 S. Saginaw St., Flint. Reverend Jonathan Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1PM-7PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint and 12PM Monday until time of service at the church. Charles was born September 3, 1935 in Calhoun, Georgia, the son of the late Leroy and Geraldine (Fox) Baker. He married Shirley Sims, in Rome, Georgia on April 9, 1960. Mr. Baker was a member of South Flint Tabernacle and retired from G.M. Metal Fab. in 1996 with 42.5 years of service. He enjoyed working on his Cub Cadet tractor, building model planes, and also enjoyed trains and drawing. Surviving are; his wife Shirley Baker of Flint, with whom he just celebrated 55 years of marriage; daughter, Cheryl (Ed) Grant of Grand Blanc; son Charles F. Baker of Grand Blanc; granddaughters, Cara (Kyle) Maddox of Flint; Anna (Michael) ( and great granddaughter Mykel on the way) Crenshaw of Burton; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
