Celestia Bell

BELL, Celestia Rue - Age 76, of Flint, passed away April 7, 2022. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, April 18, 2022 at Foss Avenue Baptist Church, 1159 E. Foss Ave., Flint. Visitation will be held 2-5 PM Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek and from 10:30AM until the time of service Monday at the church. Burial will take place on Tuesday in Albion, Michigan. Celestia was born March 15, 1946, the daughter of Phillip and Juanita (Davis) Bell. She accepted Christ at an early age at Bethel Baptist Church in Albion. She was a 1964 graduate of Albion High School and went on to earn a Bachelor Degree, and then a Masters Degree from Western Michigan University. Celestia retired from Flint Schools after 41 years of service working with the hearing and visually impaired. She was a member of Foss Avenue Baptist Church, Flint Snowbirds and a faithful member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She volunteered at Hurley Hospital for over 10 years and enjoyed consignment shopping. She was always dressed wonderfully and she always had and loved a sporty car. She enjoyed participating in the Crim 8K and 10K walk every year. She is survived by her daughter, Tashia Bell; granddaughter, Amiyah; sister, Gloria (Albert) Hines of Flint; brother, Floyd Bell of Albion; nephew, Leon Hines; niece, Dr. Philnita (Ernest) Tolbert; great-nephew, Ethan Tolbert.
