Cecil Lorenzo TRUSSELL

TRUSSELL, Cecil Lorenzo, Sir Knight - Age 89, of Flint, died Wednesday, February 2, 2011. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, February 5 at St. Piux X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth Ave, Flint, Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Thursday, 2-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek; and at church Saturday from 10 AM until time of mass. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made for Masses or to the Bishop Baraga Foundation. Mr. Trussell was born June 8, 1921 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Americus Roblin Trussell and Ida Mae (Brayley) Trussell. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He married Helen E. Hackett June 26, 1948; she preceded him in death in 1994. Cecil retired from General Motors Metal Fab and was a member of UAW Local 659. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, K of C 3rd Degree Council 8245, K of C 4th Degree Assembly 510. After retirement form GM he had worked for Carman Ainsworth Schools, Flint City Coach Lines and GMI. Surviving are his: 3 children, Michael (Susan) Trussell of Flint, Maureen Trussell of Flint, Marie Luck-Allard (Matthew Allard) of Flint; grandchildren, Christopher, Brian and Kelly Trussell, Wayne Luck, Nicholas Luck, Renzo Trussell, Joey Allard, and other step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Leo James, Aydin Michael, and Ella Grace Trussell, Brody Rakim Luck, Teresa Libengood; brothers, Roy (Betty) Trussell, Leo (Liz) Trussell; many nieces and nephews. With special recognition to Sam Brelinski, Diane Hackett, Aimee Brubaker. He is also survived by in-laws Wayne and Betty Peterson, and Helen Hackett. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; five sisters; two brothers; and son-in-law Bruce Luck in 2006. The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Vermuri and the nursing staff at McLaren Hospice; American Home Health Care; St. Pius for extended home visits by Deacon Gallagher and Sister Mary.
