TALSMA, Catherine R. "Kay" - age 84, formerly of Grand Blanc, died Friday, July 20, 2012 at West Branch Medical Center. Services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Interment will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Fenton Adopt-A-Pet, 13575 N. Fenton Rd., Fenton, MI 48430. Kay was born July 9, 1928 in Detroit, the daughter of Henry Edward and Mary Marshall (Kidd) Fairbairn. She married Arthur Ray Talsma on July 28, 1951. Kay enjoyed cooking, the outdoors and spending time on the pontoon and with her family, especially the 4 o'clock cocktail. She will be greatly missed by: husband, Ray Talsma; four children, Gary (Lynn) Talsma of Atlanta, GA, Linda (Steve) Blackmer of Linden, David (Denise) Talsma of Swartz Creek, Lisa Myers of Fenton; eight grandchildren, Jack and David Talsma, Brett and Blake Blackmer, Lindsey (Phil) Simmons, Lauren Talsma, Gillian and Mackenzie O'Hara; three great-grandchildren, Layla, Mya and Rex; brother, John (Wilma) Fairbairn of Fredericksburg, VA; two nieces, Debby and Susie; dog, Buggi.
