Catherine Runyan

RUNYAN, Catherine Mary- Age 89, of Grand Blanc, beloved wife and mother, died peacefully Saturday, May 6, 2017. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10AM Thursday, May 11, 2017 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 706 Beach Street, Flint. Father James Mangan celebrant. Burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3PM-8PM Wednesday with a rosary being prayed 7PM at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Visitation will also be held 9AM until time of service Thursday at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. Catherine was born May 18, 1927 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of the late Lloyd C. and Agnes M. (Gromboski) Becker. Mrs. Runyan married John "Jack" Runyan in Flint on October 6, 1951. Catherine enjoyed gardening and needlework. She was a member of St. Cecelia Society and past president of the Junior Needlework Guild. Surviving are: husband of 65 years, John "Jack" Runyan of Grand Blanc; daughter, Marsha (Frank) Gavin of Vero Beach, FL; son, John Runyan Jr. of Grand Blanc; grand daughter, Catherine (Jonathan) Volk of Vero Beach, FL; sister, Joanne (Robert) Montgomery of Clio; brother, James (Pat) Becker of Las Vegas, Nevada; several nieces and nephews.
