JOHNSON, Carroll Owen "C.O." - Age 85, of Mundy Township, died Sunday, October 9, 2016. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Heartland Hospice. C.O. was born May 19, 1931 in Flint, the son of Carl Oscar and Bernice Anna (Cobb) Johnson. He was a graduate of Linden High School. He was a self employed concrete contractor. C.O. had resided in this area his entire life. He was an avid banjo player and was one of the founding members of the Flint Banjo Club. He also enjoyed woodworking, golf, and a variety of other hobbies. Surviving are: his children, Jill Haseman of Kentwood, Eve Kristi and husband Ralph Duncan of Swartz Creek, and Jeffrey Johnson of Flint; grandchildren, Stacy (Terry), Bilye, Chad (Michelle), Cami (Dan), and Jamie; great grandchildren, Taylor, Gabby, Cody, Brayden, Clayton, Kylie, Lexi, and Finley; brother, Robert and wife Shirley Johnson of Kalamazoo; his children's mother, Janet Johnson of Flint; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Johnson; grandson, Jason Smith; and sister, Pat McCormick. Online tributes may be posted on the obituaries page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
