Carrie Lorraine HENDRICKS

HENDRICKS, Carrie Lorraine - Age 100, of Flint, died February 15, 2012, one day shy of her 101st birthday. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, February 20, 2012 at Bristol United Methodist Church, 5285 Van Slyke Rd., Flint, with Rev. Marvin Herman officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1-8 Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek and from 11:30 AM until the time of service Monday at church. Those desiring may make contributions to Bristol United Methodist Church or Willowbrook Manor. Carrie was born February 16, 1911 in Lockport, IL, the daughter of Earl and Anna (House) Moore. She was married to William Hendricks on August 28, 1930; he preceded her in death in May 1977. Carrie was employed by Hamady Brothers for 16 years, but was a caregiver to many for most of her life. Mrs. Hendricks enjoyed traveling with her husband and loved spending time with her family. She was a longtime member of Bristol United Methodist Church. Surviving are: daughters, Althea Huffman of Flint, Dorrine Dallas of Swartz Creek; grandchildren, Ronald Huffman of Swartz Creek, Deborah Kirby of Flint, Cindy Haugh of Byron, Thomas Huffman of Swartz Creek, Timothy Huffman of Marietta, GA, Kenneth Huffman of Linden, Karen Dailey of Newberry, Roger Dallas of Malaysia, Kathy Upton of Sparta; 24 great-grandchildren; 12 great great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son, Darwin; sister, Myrold DeWitt; sons-in-law, Samuel Huffman and John Dallas.
