Carolyn Kay Neys

NEYS, Carolyn Kay - Age 85, of Royal Oak, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024. A graveside service will be Private by invitation only at Christian Memorial Cemetery, 521 Hamlin Road, Rochester Hills. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Lung Association. 

Carolyn was born August 24, 1939 in Pollard, AR, the daughter of Adrian and Geneva (Hampton) Nettles. She was a 1957 graduate of Piggott High School in Piggott, AR. She married Joseph Daniel Neys August 28, 1959 in Royal Oak and he preceded her in death January 14, 2017. She had resided in Holly for the past 5 years coming from Royal Oak. Carolyn had been employed by Michigan Bell, Stanley Door and The City of Ferndale. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a former member of the Hamtramck Moose Lodge. She was a avid camper and a member of the Detroit Sportsmen Congress. 

Surviving are: her children, James (Sheila) Neys of Linden and Cynthia (John) Neys of Warren; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; brother, John (Beth) Nettles of Missouri; and nephew, James Sterling Nettles of Washington State. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Adrian and Geneva Nettles; brother, James Ronald Nettles. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
