Carolyn Sue Hall

Carolyn Sue Hall, better known as "Pinky," died peacefully on December 28, 2020 at the age of 86. Surrounded by loving friends and family, she let go of her earthly existence and transitioned ever so gently into the arms of God. A celebration of life service will be held 12 PM August 21, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad Street, Linden. Those desiring may make contributions to Genesee County Humane Society or Adopt-A-Pet Fenton.

Always one to wear her heart on her sleeve, if you knew Pinky you knew EVERYTHING about her and she knew everything about you too! That’s just how she was--open, engaging, direct. Opinions, never in short supply, were freely and frequently offered as loving advice to those who asked and just as often, to those who didn’t. She invited everyone into her life; no one was a stranger for long. You always knew where you stood with Pinky. She called it as she saw it: No filters. No apologies. No reservations.

My sister and I were blessed to be raised in a home by two parents who genuinely loved each other. She married Albert Francis Hall at the age of 18 and never looked at another man again. Their marriage would span some 34 years and would still be going strong today had it not been for Albert’s passing in 1987. As his health deteriorated, Pinky became his willing and compassionate caretaker; lifting him from bed into his wheelchair each morning, overseeing his every need, making sure he was comfortable and cared for. Through her devoted love and affection, she showed all of us what true love really looks like and more importantly, the meaning of "for better or worse." Pinky never remarried, for how could she? Albert was the love of her life.

In years to come, as we look back on her passing, Pinky will be most remembered for her laughter, her honesty and her willingness to speak up and work hard for the things she most believed in. We will remember what a good friend she was, how much she cared for others and how deeply she loved her children, grandchildren and yes, even her cat Charlie!

Pinky was one of a kind. She died as she lived, with dignity and grace.

She is survived by daughter, Vickie of Fenton, son, Jeffrey A (Janice) of Prescott AZ.; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeremy) Watson of Linden, Curtis Keranen of Fenton, Clinton (Michelle) Keranen of Rockford, MI, Joshua Hall of Greeley, CO, 9 great grandchildren, Merrick, Myles, Adam, Samuel, Andrew, Ryker, Henley, Jacob, Cooper; many nieces and nephews and cousins and her Linden Road neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; sister, Peggy Ketzler. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
