COLLINS, Carolyn Louise - Age 82, of Fenton, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Fenton United Methodist Church, 119 S. Leroy St, Fenton. Minister Gary Hawes officiating. Burial 12:30 PM Tuesday in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, Monday from 5-8 PM and at church Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Michigan Christian Campus Ministries or Heart to Heart Hospice. Carolyn was born June 16, 1934 in Millfield, OH, the daughter of Henry Joseph and Eda Martha (Hanning) Heffken. She received a Bachelor's in Education from Ohio University. She married Fred R. Collins November 27, 1956 in Ohio. She retired in 1991 from Clarenceville High School in Livonia as a teacher. Carolyn was a member of First Christian Church in Clearwater, FL. Surviving are: her husband of 60 years, Fred; daughters, Cheryl and husband John Sowah of Williamsburg and Carol and husband Greg Williamson of Livonia; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; sister, Henrietta Braid of Ellicott, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
