Carole Dunn Baker

April 2, 1945 — February 14, 2007

BAKER, Carole Dunn -- Age 61, of Fenton, died Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Avalon Hospice in Flint Township. Carole was born in Upper Montclair, NJ, to Warren and Margaret Dunn. She attended Michigan State University, and graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan, Flint. She had an honorable career in public service, beginning as Magistrate of the 67th District Court, Grand Blanc, and continued when she was appointed to the position of Court Administrator. Carole served with integrity until her retirement in 1998. In addition to her service to the county, Carole was the President of the Board of Directors of New Paths. She also volunteered with Adopt-A-Pet, which among other meaningful rewards, resulted in the happy addition to her life of Thomas and Hogan, the cats. Carole had many interests, including antiques, gardening, and snow skiing, but her true passion was golf. She participated in leagues and played whenever else she was able. Surviving Carole are her loving brother, Gordon, sister-in-law, Kathy, and nephew, Brian of Houston, TX, as well as her 'honorary son', Ernie Colin of Kingsville, TX. Her brother would like to thank Joanne Evans, Sue Morgan, Donna Cummings, Zoanne Saab, Kellie Gallinat, and John Gaona for their devoted friendship to Carole. A special thank you is also extended to her physician, Barry Miller, M.D. and the people at Avalon Hospice. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 20, at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, located at 7234 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc. The service will begin at 3:00 PM, with Pastor Will Stenke presiding. Visitation with Carole's family and friends will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation, in Carole's name, to a charity of choice. Tributes and condolences may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
