Carol was born on December 24, 1938, in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Bruce & Marion Martin (Hogg). She graduated from Flint Central High School, class of 1956. Upon finishing high school Carol enrolled herself at Hurley School of Nursing, graduating in 1959 as a Registered Nurse.

Carol's nursing career took her and her two sons, Martin & Robert, throughout the United States. A few jobs that truly stood out during her time as a nurse were her time in rural Alabama where she worked as a Public Health Nurse and later as a Maternal and Infant Health Nurse in Georgia, ultimately returning to Michigan as a School and Community Health Nurse. It wasn't always easy, but her resilience was the greatest attribute she instilled upon her boys. Both her sons went on to serve their country in the United States Army. Martin followed in his mother's footsteps as he too became a Registered Nurse.

Some of her fondest memories were those as a child spent on Williams Lake with her family. In recent years during her retirement, she took up the hobby of bookbinding; this craft intertwined leatherworking, paper making and even sewing. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren's school events over the years.

Even in her private life Carol always helped others, positively affecting many lives.

She is survived by her 2 sons, Robert (fiancée Shannon Noe) Woods & Martin (Karen) Woods; 2 grandchildren, Bruce Woods & Katherine "Kate" Woods; sister, Kathleen (George) Chute; step grandson, Jack Noe. She is further survived by several dear friends and other family members.
