Carol Lynne GOGGINS

GOGGINS, Carol Lynne - Age 74, of Flushing, died September 5, 2013 at McLaren with her family by her side. Services will be held 11 AM Monday, September 9 at Sharp Funeral Homes, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Fr. Louis Ekka officiating. Visitation will be held 9-11 AM Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to Flushing Christian Outreach Center or the North End Soup Kitchen. Carol was born November 26, 1938 in Flint, the daughter of Howard and Freda ( Parrish) Atherton. She was married to Thomas P. Goggins on September 22, 1996. She worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Flint. She loved her flowers, gardening, knitting, and doing puzzles. She was a "mother" to anyone who would let her be one . Surviving are: husband Thomas Goggins; daughter Kay (Michael) Mattar of Flushing; son Craig (Victoria) Lemonds of Kalamazoo; step-children, David (Patti) Goggins of Flushing, Mike (Mariella) Goggins, of Troy, Pat (Minerva) Goggins of Lansing, Dan (Sophia) Goggins, Renee (Don) Barkley, Brian Goggins, Brenda (Matt) Kierscht all of California; 19 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Buel Lemonds in 1976; grandson Chance Lemonds; sister Arlene Birkam; and brother Carl Atherton.
