Carnet "Smitty" Smith

SMITH, Carnet "Smitty" Lee - age 69, of Howell, died April 14, 2021. A celebration of Smitty's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the USO (www.uso.org). He was born October 24, 1951 in Flint, the son of Robert Lee and Marie Clemie (Dixon) Smith. Smitty was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War and also served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a tool and die maker, carpenter & avid fisherman. He met and married Inetta (Bell) Fitzgerald on September 14, 2003 in Florida. Smitty was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous and enjoyed helping others. But most of all he loved fishing with his granddaughter. Surviving are: wife, Inetta Smith; son, Benjamin (Heidi) Smith; granddaughter, Peyton Smith; grandson, Reid Smith; three sisters, Mary (Ralph) Pieper, Margie Devoe and Cheryl Devoe.
