Ward, Carmen Janette (Tremaine), of Fenton died Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Tanglewood Assisted Living. Cremation services will be through Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd. Fenton. Â Interment of cremated remains will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Â The family is planning a memorial service at a later date. Carmen was born in Flint, Michigan January 14, 1918, the daughter of Robert and Hazel (Shannon) Tremaine. Â She lived in the Flint and Fenton area most of her life. Â She attended Central High School in Flint as well as Baker College, where she met her future husband Robert Ward. Â Robert started Builder's Wholesale Lumber Company where Carmen worked as a Bookkeeper for many years until Robert's death. Â Carmen was an avid golfer, belonging to Atlas Valley Country Club and Flint Golf Club during her lifetime. Â She also helped to start the Wednesday Ladies Golf League at Tyrone Hills Golf Course in Fenton, even before the clubhouse was built at that facility and continued to play golf there into her eighties. Â She leaves her loving children Robert Jeffrey Ward and wife Patti of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Lisa Kerrigan and husband Timothy of Ottumwa, Iowa and Michol Scheer and husband John of Fenton; grandchildren Joseph, Robert, Kathryn, Shawn, Alexandra, and Ryan. Â Great Grandchildren Alexis and Johnathon. Â She also leaves her sister Joan Tremaine and several nieces and nephews. Â She was predeceased by her brother Duncan Tremaine.
