STRAUSS, Carmeletta Strauss (Munger) - Age 86, of Swartz Creek, died Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Private Funeral Mass will take place at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 S Saginaw St, Grand Blanc. Fr. Joe Krupp celebrant. Burial will take place at a later date at St. Paul's Cemetery, Owosso. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the McLaren Hospice. Carm was born on August 9, 1934 in Midland the daughter of Edwin and Wella (Boyle) Munger. She graduated from Owosoo High School. Carm and Leo Strauss were united in marriage on May 9, 1953 in Owosso. She worked for 28 years at the Swartz Creek Middle School as the school secretary. Carm was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Durand, the Red Hat Society and the Civil Air Patrol. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, traveling with her daughters and daughter-in-law's, and going to the beach. She is survived by her children, Michael (Deborah) Strauss, Richard (Mary) Strauss, LoAnne (Jim) Russian and Kelly (Kenneth) Emigh; 8 grandchildren, Rick, Ryan, David, Michael, Nick, Lori, Isaac and Jessica; 12 great-grandchildren; and 3 brothers, William (Elizabeth) Munger, Edwin Munger and Gary (Karen) Munger. Carm was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; parents, Edwin and Wella Munger; and daughter, Dorthea Maxine Strauss. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
