Carlton "Wayne" Timmons

TIMMONS, Carlton “Wayne” - Age 91, of Holly, passed away December 24, 2020, at his home. Wayne was born May 2, 1929, in Childress, TX, the son of Eldridge M. and Ruby “Faye” (Simpson) Timmons. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He married Elaine Grant on June 28, 1957.  He was a Preacher for the Church of Christ for 54 years before retiring in 2006.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Elaine; children, Deborah  (David) Crutchfield , Melody  (Lon, Jr.) Marshall, LaWayne  (Mike) Freeman, Cherry (Ray) VanCour, Steven  (Christy) Timmons, Alan (Jeanette) Timmons; 20 grandchildren;  many great-grandchildren; sister, Marie Cruse; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Leonard Fray Timmons; brothers, Reese, Eddie (“Petesy”) and Don Timmons; sister, Margie Cook.

Memorial services will be held 4PM Sunday January 3, 2021 at Mt. Morris Church of Christ, 1262 South St., Mt. Morris, with interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
