Carlton L. RICHMOND

September 19, 1929 — June 30, 2011

RICHMOND, Carlton L. - age 81, of Fenton, died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the Masonic Home in Alma, Michigan. Funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton with Reverend Clifford Furness officiating. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 PM Saturday until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Hurley Foundation. Carlton was born September 19, 1929 in Flint, the son of Carlton C. and Elizabeth (Ramsey) Richmond. After graduating from Goodrich High School in 1947 he entered the Navy until 1950 and the Army from 1951-1953. Carlton married Rose Gonyou and she preceded him in death October 21, 1995, he then married A. Frances Holbrook April 10, 1999 in Burton and she preceded him in death September 16, 2010. Carlton was a member of the Lake Fenton United Methodist Church, Swartz Creek Masonic Lodge #458 F.&A.M., and a life member of Fenton V.F.W. Curtis Wolverton Post #3243. Surviving are: 8 sisters, Virginia (Melvin) Townsend of Grand Blanc, Dorothy Collins of Burton, Norma (Robert) Tolbert of Burton, Janice (Richard) Kodat of Davison, Marilyn Dingo of Burton, Betty French of Clio, Linda Thick of Burton and Carol Thick of Burton; 2 brothers, Donald (Barbara) Richmond of Burton and Richard (Fay) Richmond of Davison; several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, James, William, Gerald and Robert Richmond; 2 sisters, Mary Young and Donna Dingo.
