RHINEBOLT, Carl Nelson, age 75 of Flint, passed away unexpectedly as a result of a motorcycle accident on May 4, 2024. His funeral will be held 4 PM Friday, May 10, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, with Pastor Jim Harvey officiating. The funeral will be live streamed and can be viewed via the link at the base of Mr. Rhinebolt's obituary at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. Visitation will be 12PM Friday until the time of service at the funeral home. Carl will be laid to rest, with military honors, at 11:00 AM Monday, May 13, 2024 at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Carl to the American Legion Post #64 (4314 W. Carpenter Road, Flint, Michigan 48504).
Carl was born on March 5, 1949 in Flint, Michigan to the late Nelson Jacob and Betty Yvonne (Tibbals) Rhinebolt. He is a 1968 graduate of Flint Central High School and served our country with the United States Army while receiving the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantryman's Badge and the Purple Heart. He married Wendy June Wilson on August 18, 1985 in Flint, Michigan. He was the proud owner and operator of Carl's Signs & More for over 25 years and was a member of the American Legion Post #64 in addition to the America Legion Riders. Carl was an artist who enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, gold prospecting, a beautiful day on his bike and he cherished the time that he spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife and companion of 50 years, Wendy. Children, Carl (Cheryl) Rhinebolt, Jr. of Flint and their children, Jacob; Matthew; Nathan; Amanda. Tammy (Tim) Young of Toledo and their children, Jacob and Jayla. Josh (Amy) Rhinebolt of Davison and their children, Kaylee; Alyvia; Ella; Sophia. Great-grandson, Jace. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tony; sister, Beatrice.
