Carl Leroy Newcomer Jr

NEWCOMER, Carl Leroy, Jr. - Age 87, of Swartz Creek, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024. A private service will be held with burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Those desiring may make contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society. 

Carl was born December 31, 1936 in Lansing, the son of Carl Leroy and Olga (Kalinoski) Newcomer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He married Arlene M. Reid July 11, 1959 in Lansing and she preceded him in death July 10, 2018. He had resided in Swartz Creek since 1967 coming from Grand Blanc. Carl retired in 1991 from GM Truck and Bus Assembly after 30 years of service. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local #598. 

Surviving are: his daughters, Carlene (Oren) Vincent of Swartz Creek and Alicia (Shaun) O'Neil of Gaines; grandchildren, Timothy (Ashley) Vincent of Byron, Sarah (Greg) Mason of Swartz Creek and Kristin (Ryan) Allred of Gaines; 10 great grandchildren. 

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Carl, Sr. and Olga Newcomer. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
