Carl Michael Koch

KOCH, Carl "Coach"-age 88 of Fenton, passed away peacefully with family by his side, on March 14th, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 3, 2025 at St. Jude's Episcopal Church of Fenton located at 106 E. Elizabeth St. The family will receive guests at the church on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Carl was born on January 25th, 1937 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Philip F. and Rose C.(Manzella) Koch. He graduated from Florida Southern College in 1959 and was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. Carl was also chapter advisor for the fraternity at the University of Michigan for several years. He married Constance Hulett on Sept. 14th 1957 in Birmingham, Michigan. Together they raised three sons. Carl had a passion for baseball. He coached through out his life and was instrumental in the advancement of Little League baseball in Fenton as its president. Carl had an amazing win/loss record. He coached Fenton J.V. and finished out his long career as head coach for the Hartland high school varsity baseball team.

He and his International Therapy Dog, an Australian Shepherd named Peaches, visited long term health care facilities bringing comfort to those in need.

Surviving is his loving wife of 68 years, Connie. Sons Douglas of Fenton, Steven (Laura) of Fenton and Jeffrey (Jennifer) of Clarkston. Grandchildren, Evan,, Ella and Madeleine Koch. Brother-in-laws, Robert Gladfelter and Ralf (Rose) Gladfelter. Sister-in-laws, Geri (Jack) Daly and Carol (Dave) Chambers. Also surviving are nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, sister Rose Moore, father-in-law Bud Hulett and mother-in-law Katherine Hart.
