Carl Gustav FROBERG

FROBERG, Carl Gustav. - age 81, of Gaines, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Gaines United Methodist Church, 117 E. Clinton Street., Gaines. Pastor David Wichert will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Gaines. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 PM Sunday and 1:00-3:00 and 5:00-8:00 PM Monday with a Masonic Memorial Service at 7:00 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road., Swartz Creek. Contributions may be made to Gaines United Methodist Church. Carl was born April 6, 1929 in Gaines, MI to Gustav and Anna (Swanson) Froberg. He and Virginia Hoskins were married in 1950 in Gaines. Carl was employed at Gilbert's Dairy for 18 years; Simplicity Foundry as a welder in Durand and was also self-employed as a Farmer where he grew crops and had beef cattle. Carl was a very hard working man. He was a member of the Gaines United Methodist Church and Bryon Mason. Carl loved to play cards at the Byron Lodge every Monday. He is survived by his three children, Ruthann Christie (Bob) of Marquette, Jennifer Pilarski (Jim) of Grand Blanc, Carl Froberg (Shannon) of Davison; four grandchildren, Jason (Becky) Christie; Karen (Mitchell) Gray; Lisa Pilarski; Jayann Froberg; brothers, John Froberg (Arletta) of Lennon; Roy Froberg (Peggy) of Duluth, MN; sister, Emily Willman (Gary) of Idaho; sister-in-law, Betty Froberg of Swartz Creek; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Karen Froberg; brother, David Froberg; sisters, Marie Euper, Linda Irish and his wife, Virginia who passed away in 2006.Tributes may be posted on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
