Buryl R VINCENT

VINCENT, Buryl R. - age 87, of Durand, went to be with the Lord on October 19, 2011 after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Durand Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Mike McCarty officiating. Interment will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel , 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries. Mr. Vincent was born June 23, 1924 in Vernon Twp., the son of Buryl E. and Bessie (VanArsdale) Vincent. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II where he was awarded 5 Bronze Stars. Mr. Vincent married Janet Tkacz on October 25, 1947 at the Durand Church of the Nazarene and they celebrated 50 years of marriage in 1997. He was a member of the Durand Church of the Nazarene for over 60 years where he was active on the church board, children's ministries served and an usher and was the Treasurer�s assistant. Mr. Vincent retired from Simplicity Engineering as a welder. Surviving are: three children, Virginia Vincent and Beverly Vincent both of Durand, Richard and wife Joy Vincent of Bloomfield, NJ; granddaughter, Sarah Vincent; nieces and nephews.
