Bud Hiltz

HILTZ, Bud William - age 80. of Swartz Creek, died Monday, February 29, 2016. Services will be held 12PM Friday, March 4, 2016 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 6273 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Chris Yager officiating. Visitation will be held 2PM-8PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will also be held 11AM until time of service on Friday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation. Mr. Hiltz was born July 6, 1935 in Flushing, the son of Gordon Fredrick and Hazel (Hall) Hiltz. He was a 1953 graduate of Sterling High School and married Gayle Weishuhn on October 16, 1954 in Prescott, MI. Mr. Hiltz retired from General Motors Truck Plant in 1987 as a Lift Truck Driver after 32 years of service. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Mr. Hiltz drove ambulance for CM Ambulance for 15 years. He enjoyed bowling on several leagues, fishing, hunting, driving the church bus and going on annual Canadian fishing trips with his children. Surviving are: wife, Gayle Hiltz of Swartz Creek; three children, Randy (Debbie) Hiltz of Otisville, Russell (Sharon) Hiltz of Holly; Barbara (Ken) Foley of Flint; 25 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Bob (Leona) Hiltz of Sanford; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: parents, Hazel and Steve Pausits; grandson, Justin; great-grandson, Gage; brother Richard and sister, Barbara.
