Buck Jones

JONES, Buck Owen - Age 83, of Frankenmuth (formerly of Flint Township) died Thursday, June 25, 2020. Private Family services will be held at Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Burial will follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Friends and family are welcome at the Visitation that will be held from 5PM-8PM Tuesday, June 30, at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Saginaw County Veterans Administration. Buck was born August 29, 1936 in Leachville AR, the son of Ray and Ella (Ray) Jones. He married Wilma Mann in Mt. Morris on August 19, 1961. After proudly serving his country in the Army, and a 30-year career at Graybar Electric, he and Wilma moved to Cheboygan to enjoy their retirement. Buck loved spending time with his grandchildren, gardening, fishing, boating and hunting. Surviving are: loving wife of 58 years, Wilma Jones of Frankenmuth; children, Jeff Jones of Gianes, Patricia Ortiz of Howell, Stephanie (Jerry) Coleman of MD, Greg (Dana) Jones of Bryon Center; grandchildren, Jessica (Ryan) Ortiz- Farley, Tarah (Kevin) Ortiz- Durnbaugh, Chase Jones, Rachel Ockerman, Marissa Ockerman, Ethan Coleman, Abagail Coleman, Charlotte Coleman, Tyler Jones, Cole Jones. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Ivy Durnbaugh and Linus Durnbaugh; sister, Sheila (Jim) Boedecker of Flint. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jack, Bill, Ed, Floyd and sisters, Sue, Sharon and Ruth. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
