Bruce Beatty

June 14, 1942 — November 22, 2018

Beatty, Bruce Charles - Age 76, of Burton, passed away at Genesys Regional Medical Center on November 22, 2018. Bruce worked at Buick plant 36 for 42 years. He loved being with his friends. Bruce never called in sick the 42 years he worked at Buick. He had Parkinson's disease and at night he thought he was back at work. Going to work brought him comfort. Bruce loved to go to Starlite restaurant every morning. He liked being with his friends and the staff that worked there. When Bruce could no longer go outside they would often send him a milkshake. He used to say he could drink the shake in 3 minutes and not even get a brain freeze. I would reply, what does that tell you? and he would say, "Good ice cream never hurt anybody". Bruce loved to go to The Valley Church Of Christ on Lippincott street in Burton. He found great comfort being with the good people that he met every Sunday. He liked working Mission Possible, helping put out food for the dinners for anybody that worked so hard in the community. He also enjoyed eating these dinners. Mission Possible was great fun for him. Bruce has a good family. He would have been married for 50 years on December 13th. He has good children. His sons were Bruce Beatty, Donald Beatty, Jeff Beatty, Randy Croteau, and Danny Beatty who passed away in 2009 from cancer. He also has daughters Christine Henry and Lisa Speck. Bruce has many grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A special thank you for his granddaughter Braya, who was at the Regency every night to help feed her grandpa. She was at every emergency room visit along with her dad. Bruce was in the ER frequently. I will never forget one of the ER nurses saying to my granddaughter Braya, you are such a good girl to sit all these hours so patiently and quiet while we take care of your grandpa. She replied, "Its my pleasure." Brittany, also one of Bruce's granddaughter's is in the U.S. Army serving her country. God Bless her and keep her safe. Bruce's daughter-in-laws, Heather and Brittnie Beatty were very helpful taking care of their father-in-law. Heather helped by staying with him while I was in the hospital and helping with doctor appointments. Brittnie would come to my house and help calm Bruce when he was out of control. Bruce had a good life. A family that loved him. A job that he talked about all the time. A church that gave him comfort. He will be missed. God Bless Bruce.
