Bruce O. Ball

BALL, Bruce O. - Age 86, of Mt. Morris, died Friday, April 28, 2006 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral Services will be held 11AM Monday, May 1, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor Donny Hogdson officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6PM Sunday. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the Bruce Ball Memorial Fund. Mr. Ball was born June 1, 1919 in Richmond, MI, the son of Thomas and Bertha Elizabeth (Ruff) Ball. He was married to Ruth A. Fields on November 30, 1940. He retired from G.M. Plant 4 Chevrolet Motor Division and was a member of U.A.W. Local 659. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, and his dogs. Indoors he enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and playing stringed instruments. Surviving are: wife of 65 years Ruth; three children, Jesse and wife Rosemary of Durand, Jean and husband George Mawdsley of Flushing, Elaine and husband Cecil Schott of Flushing; five grandchildren, Jason, Leslie, Jeremey, Sarah, and Melanie; two great-grandchildren, Erik and Kevin; sister-in-law Eleanor Ball; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son Bruce in 1986. The family extends a special thanks to Mt. Morris Hemacare, Owosso Memorial Hospital, and Avalon Hospice.
