Brigitte 'Getta' Rapson

November 17, 1945 — February 19, 2004

RAPSON, Brigitte Getta  Age 58, of Fenton, died February 19, 2004 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Brigitte was born November 17, 1945 in Munich, Germany, the daughter of Martin B. and Brunhilde (Wirth) Atkinson. She was a 1964 graduate of Holly High School and had resided in Fenton since 1972. She worked for the U.A.W. Human Resource Center in Flint. Getta was strong and vibrant, and did not let her illness deter her from living a full and passionate life. She was loved by many and made a lasting impression in the lives of all she touched. She will be remembered as an extraordinary, one of a kind soul to all those she leaves behind. Surviving are: 2 daughters, Debbie Littleton and her children Josh and Megan of Clarkston, Krista Rapson of Fenton; mother, Hilda Atkinson of Fenton; 2 sisters, Hilda and husband Richard Crawford of Ortonville, Barb and husband Daniel Stough of Fenton; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by infant daughter Pam in 1976, and father Martin B. Atkinson. Visitation will be held 3-5 and 7-9 PM Saturday, and 2-5 and 7-9 PM Sunday with a Vigil Service at 3 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, February 23, 2004 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fenton Rev. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Interment in St. John Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salvation Army Bed and Bread Club (Dick Purtan Radiothon Program) in honor of Brigitte Rapson.
