Brian James Cavanaugh

CAVANAUGH, Brian James - Age 50, of Byron, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024. A celebration service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton (The service will be live streamed and can be viewed below his obituary on Sharp Funeral Homes website). Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 11 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society or Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. 

Brian was born November 20, 1973 in Detroit, the son of Donald and Linda (Landry) Cavanaugh. He was a 1991 graduate of Byron High School. He resided in Byron for many years and spent the past 8 months in Grand Blanc. He was employed by Kelly Services in Data Analysis. He was a volunteer for the Shiawassee County Sheriff Posse. Brian was a Ham Radio operator. He enjoyed fish, plants, collecting guns, electronics and most of all his dog, Luther. 

Surviving are: his son, Kenneth Cavanaugh of Byron; mother, Linda Cavanaugh of Burton; father, Donald Cavanaugh of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Felicia (Kevin) Louth of Rochester, NY and Samantha (Kyle) Burris of Tampa, FL; grandmother, Evonne "Bonnie" Landry of Summerfield, FL; and his sons mother, Dawn Cavanaugh of Byron.
