Bret Van Buren

VAN BUREN, Bret Allen, age 43, of Flint passed away June 7, 2022. Funeral Services 4:30 PM Friday, June 10, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc. Visitation 3PM - 6PM Friday. Interment at Highland Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions would be appreciated in Bret's memory to Gift of Life, Ann Arbor.

Bret was born, April 16, 1979 in Ann Arbor, the son of Calvin and Debra (Froney) Van Buren. Bret was employed in the Home Renovation Trades. He was a father who loved his son deeply and a special little lady, Aaliya Adams, "his daughter not in birth but in life". Bret was a warm - caring individual with compassion for many. Being a jokester was his personality which provided many chuckles and enjoyment. He got his love of music from his father Cal, known as "Stax-O-Wax DJ Service.

Bret's life journey was many things: challenges-struggles and positive experiences.

He was taken far too soon, by not wearing a helmet. Please remember it's for those who love you. His struggles were with drug addiction. If you know someone who is suffering, be compassionate, strong, and continue to love and pray for them. Keep your hand extended .... some day, just one day they may reach!

Bret is survived by: his mother and stepfather, Debra (Froney) and Jim Liwienski; his companion, Rebecca St. Pierre; son, Zachary Van Buren; brother, Andrew Van Buren; sisters, Sara Van Buren, Ashley Liwienski, and Lindsey(Liwienski) Richards; nephews, Joseph Van Buren, and Aiden Richards; nieces, Victoria Van Buren, Ashlynn Richards, Alivia Richards, and Tatum Jablonsky; aunts/uncles, Terry and Kay Froney, Mary Pat (Clark) and Walter Boomgaard, Jackie (Clark) Fagerlie, Paul and Debbie Van Buren, and Ginny Van Buren; and many, many cousins, and dear and beloved friends.
